SEAWEED PACKAGE
Stay at Penllwyn Cottages and enjoy our seaweed package. Visit Da Mhile distillery and taste some great liqueurs, whisky and seaweed gin.
Da Mhile distillery started producing on its current site in the Autumn of 2012 and has rapidly gained an excellent reputation for the quality and diversity of its product range. Pay a visit and sample its latest product Seaweed Gin.
You will be taken around the distillery showing you all parts of the process from brewing through to distillery, bottling, labelling and warehouse where we age the whisky in an array of rare casks - all under the same roof. By the end of 2014 we will have our very own malting floor, one of the very few distilleries to malt their own barley on site.
Whilst there you can also visit Teifi Farmhouse Cheese and sample some of the great local cheese produced.
Ceredigion is a wonderful place for small artisan food producers and if you fancy visiting somewhere unique then the smallest commercial brewery in the world is the place for you, the Tynllidiart Arms near Aberystwyth.

In nearby New Quay don't miss out on a visit to the New Quay Honey Farm and visit the meadery made from the honey produced. Mead is celebrated in some of the most famous early welsh poetry. Visit the exhibition and learn how mead is made today.
In the centenary of the birth of Dylan Thomas I'm sure he would have enjoyed visiting these local food and drink producers. While staying at Penllwyn Cottages enjoy a complimentary guided tour of the Dylan Thomas Trail around the village of New Quay and see the sites and places that inspired him during his stay during WW2. Why not visit the newly refurbished Black Lion, Thomas' favourite haunt, and where he was drinking the night of the infamous shooting incident at Majoda.
